How to get the Apple TV app

1. On your compatible smart TV, streaming device or game console, go to your device's app store and download the Apple TV app.
2. Open the Apple TV app and choose Start Watching.
3. Go to Settings, then select Accounts.
4. Choose Sign In. If you don't have an Apple ID, you will need to create one. Then, use one of these options to sign in with your Apple ID and complete setup:
   • Sign In On Mobile Device: Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code on the TV screen. Then follow the instructions on your mobile device.
   • Sign In On This TV: Use your TV remote to manually sign in with your Apple ID and complete setup.

Sign out of the Apple TV app on a smart TV, streaming device or game console

1. Open the Apple TV app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Select Accounts, then choose Sign Out.

Reset the Apple TV app to its original settings

This will sign you out of your account on that device and remove your personal information. If you're also signed in to the Apple Music app on your smart TV or streaming device, the Apple Music app will also be reset to its original settings and all of your personal information will be removed.

1. On your smart TV, streaming device or game console, open the Apple TV app or Apple Music app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. On your smart TV or streaming device, choose 'Reset Apple TV app and Apple Music', then confirm your choice. On your game console, choose 'Reset Apple TV app'.

How do I stream Sky Go to my TV?

Kicking things off on a bit of a downer, the simple answer is you can’t. Never fear, you can get Sky Go on a TV using a good ol’ cable.

Unfortunately, Sky is yet to add any kind of casting function to the Sky Go app – as you can do with other streaming services like Netflix or Amazon – and this means there’s no way to shift the app’s mobile content from your phone or tablet to a TV. A lack of a Sky Go app on smart TVs doesn’t help the situation either.

Instead, you’ll need to grab your laptop and download Sky Go if you haven’t already. The next step is to check what connections your laptop has and, fingers crossed, it has an HDMI port and you’ve got a handy HDMI cable lying around.

Other solutions include a VGA/DVI connection on some older machines or a more flexible Thunderbolt port, but HDMI is the simplest way of going about things. Here’s exactly how to do it:
